Kitchen Countertops

Countertops do more to set the look of a kitchen than almost any other surface, and they take more daily wear than anything else in the room. World Kitchen Designs helps homeowners across West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County choose, template and install countertops for kitchens, bathrooms, islands and outdoor kitchens, usually as part of a cabinetry or remodeling project.

Countertop materials we work with

  • Quartz: engineered stone that is non-porous, consistent in color and doesn't need sealing. A popular choice for busy family kitchens and for anyone who wants the look of marble with less upkeep.
  • Granite: natural stone with one-of-a-kind patterns. Very durable and heat-resistant; it benefits from periodic sealing.
  • Marble: classic, elegant veining for statement islands, backsplash walls and bathrooms. Softer than granite or quartz, so it develops a patina over time.

Natural stone varies from slab to slab, so we encourage you to see the actual material before you commit. Those natural variations are part of the stone's character, not defects.

From selection to installation

  1. Select: compare materials, colors and edge profiles in our showroom alongside your cabinet door samples.
  2. Template: once your cabinets are installed, we take precise measurements of the finished layout, including sink, cooktop and faucet cutouts.
  3. Fabricate: the slab is cut and finished to the template.
  4. Install: countertops are set, seamed and sealed where required, and sinks are mounted.

Countertop timing depends on cabinet installation, material availability and fabrication lead times. We explain the sequence for your specific project before work begins.

Choosing the right countertop for a South Florida home

Think about how you cook and entertain. Quartz is the low-maintenance favorite for kitchens that see heavy daily use. Granite holds up well to heat and works beautifully on outdoor kitchens and bars. Marble is ideal where you want a showpiece and don't mind a lived-in patina. For outdoor kitchens, ask us which materials are rated for sun and weather exposure, since some quartz products are designed for indoor use only.

Pair your countertops with new cabinetry

Countertops and cabinets look best when they're planned together. Browse modern and traditional cabinet styles, read our kitchen cabinet cost guide, or see everything included in a kitchen remodel.
